Doug Taylor is a bloke that i would see every now and again and it was always a good time when he was around. Friendly as fuck, funny and i never found out why, but everyone called him the Murry Cod. Apart from being nicknamed after a fucking fish his photography has really taken on a style of its own and it’s fucking dope to see. It’s raw, loose and fresh, which is such a rarity in amongst the same old BMX photos and style.
I look on his blog/site thing every now and again when it pops up on facebook because i always for get the URL, which is fucking stupid because its just his name with photo at the end of it….The site has the odd half decent looking girl on it, a bunch of naked dudes in the mix and a style which you will no doubt respond to. Also one of the doppest sets of photos is of these ratty kids fighting at a skatepark. So many good photos of the kid who looks like a puffer fish.
So the girl i photographed for the shirt which you’ll see all of the team wearing and the odd punter who managed to get their hands on one is a girl by the name of Hilary Thackway. I’ve known her for a while now and was shooting for the magazine she and friend started called Elodi zine. Long story short, she draws and does that artistic shit that i was always retarded at. And I just realized that she has a blog, which i think i may of been on once, cause i kinda remember it but i may of been drunk, because i vaguely remember getting all pumped up to go take photos and that tends to happen when i get drunk and look at good art or photos. When i would go back to canberra hanging out with Jacko was always so much fun. Especially when we would go ride lanners. The park is so shit, but never gets old. This is the second edit his banged out here, the last one was like fucking 10 minutes long, but this one is short and sweet. Feeble up to manners down was awesome, as well as the nose manual ET, i dont think i have ever seen that before.
Anyway, jacko’s a mad cunt, give him a pound next time you see him. Enjoy.
So as you may notice there is a new site up. I think it looks pretty fucking badass and i hope you feel the same way! In the way of new things, i just recently moved to New York so expect more content from the streets of New York and less content of the hacks back in Australia. But hopefully soon i will be getting contributions from other NYRM crew back in Australia and i will no doubt be stealing content from other sites and just reposting that shit.
In the way of new products, a new shirt will be dropping soon and hopefully people will actually be able to buy these ones from stores and there is also talk about making a NYRM DVD seeing as we have such a badass team.
